Mission Intern – Cactus, Texas

Is God calling you to join The Cause, to discover your Kingdom purpose while being equipped and empowered with missionary skills in Cactus, Texas alongside a Compassionate Ministry Center? This mission intern will join with Nazarene Global Missions, the USA/CANADA Region, the Missions Mobilization team, West Texas District and Cactus Nazarene Ministry Center in Cactus, Texas, USA. 

Cactus Nazarene Ministry Center serves a culturally diverse population. The center serves more than 20 cultures – primarily immigrants and refugees from Mexico, Central America, Myanmar, and Africa. Through their diverse programs, they provide practical support, spiritual care, and opportunities to grow and thrive. Some of the programs include English classes, support to families, kids? programs year-round, a teen mentoring program and legal immigration support.

Responsibilities: 

• Be guided in cultural bridge-building. 
• Depending on the need, lead short term missions teams in conjunction with Cactus leadership.
• Listen and learn alongside others on navigating cultural differences to build meaningful relationships. 
• Community engagement in one of the most unique communities in the USA.
• Participate in cultural orientation activities and community events to develop cross-cultural competency.
• Support the ongoing work of the compassionate ministry center which may include assisting with English classes, children’s programing and outreach events.
• Participate in team meetings weekly.
• Participate in exploring how God’s work and human dignity are revealed through cross-cultural service.

• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability, with demonstrated interest in cross-cultural work.  
• Commitment to the organization’s mission and values, along with flexibility in role assignments.  
• A growing and active relationship with Jesus Christ. 
• Passion for cross-cultural missions, discipleship, and community engagement.  
• A willingness to learn. 
• A willingness to lean into personal growth in the core elements of cross-cultural ministry under the mentorship and coaching of experienced leaders.
