Director of Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance for EuNC

This position is vital for maintaining and enhancing the academic quality and connectedness of EuNC and their local districts and Learning Centers. The Director will ensure the curriculum meets accreditation and ministerial preparation standards while fostering collaboration with districts to address contextual needs and church-based educational goals. Strong leadership in this role will strengthen the college’s overall vision and strategy in serving the Church of the Nazarene.

Role Description :

• Chair the Curriculum Committee.
• Oversee regular reviews of the curriculum framework, quality assurance plans, and intended educational outcomes.
• Ensure all syllabus templates meet academic and accreditation standards.
• Foster collaboration with districts to align curriculum development with local ministerial and community needs.
• Support different Learning Centers in developing learning communities and mentoring programs.
• Work with the Leadership Team to develop and implement strategic delivery methods, including online education.
• Serve on the College Leadership Team and represent the College on boards, committees, and consultations regionally and internationally.

Key Qualifications and Attributes :

• Education: A Master’s degree (MA) in Theology, Education, or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a PhD or other terminal degree.
• Language Proficiency: High proficiency in the English language is essential. Additional language skills in one or more of EuNC’s instructional languages are preferred. Willingness for language learning of the country in which you will live. 
• Experience: Proven experience in curriculum development, quality assurance, or higher education administration. Leadership and administrative expertise in an educational or theological setting. Thorough understanding with the Church of the Nazarene’s educational and ministerial framework. Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum design, quality assurance, and ministerial education requirements. Experience with online education delivery and strategic planning for digital learning. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proactive and innovative mindset for addressing the educational needs of diverse student populations. Basic understanding of mentoring both students and faculty within a multicultural, decentralized context.

Preferences:

• Individual or Family (Flexible): Preference for a couple where both individuals can actively contribute to theological education, the spouse of the DCDQA being capable of serving in academics or educational administration.
• Church Connectivity: Strong ties to the district and a commitment to fostering relationships between EuNC and the broader church community.
• Ministerial Experience: Preferred experience as a lay or ordained minister, reflecting a deep understanding of ministry within the church context, with a strong preference for an ordained minister.
