English Teacher Assistant
Is God calling you to help children and youth develop to their God-given potential by teaching English to K-10 students alongside local teachers in Jordan?
The teaching assistant work within the network of four schools sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene to offer holistically-focused education in a community of encouragement, mutual respect, and faith. This missionary’s native English skills will help reinforce one of the main strengths of the schools.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Jordanian teachers to Teach English to 250 students, grades K-10
- Assist other teachers with curriculum development as needed
- Assist General Director of the Jordan Nazarene Schools with education-related issues, especially professional development.
- Assist as needed in other areas such as music, art, computer education, communication
Requirements:
- Fluent in English
- College/university degree
- Experience with children
The school is located in a conservative area where a majority of the population is of another faith. Being culturally aware and sensitive in dress and behavior is a necessity. The school would like someone for the full school year, but less time is not a disqualifying factor.
