Youth Pastor
Is God calling you to intentionally lead dynamic initiatives and disciple youth in Guam’s culturally rich environment, guiding them to grow in faith and serve in a Nazarene community?
Responsibilities:
- Lead dynamic initiatives to share the Gospel and connect with youth in Guam’s culturally rich environment.
- Mentor young people to deepen their spiritual lives and grow in faith.
- Help equip the church to minister effectively to youth and support their development.
- Organize retreats, camps, and mission opportunities to encourage spiritual growth.
- Build relationships with families and local youth to strengthen church outreach.
- Intentionally reach out and share the Gospel with local youth.
Requirements:
- Follow Jesus Christ and pursue holiness in alignment with Nazarene doctrine.
- Have training or a degree in theology, ministry, or a related field (preferred).
- Show experience in youth ministry with skills in mentoring, teaching and leading.
- Adapt to Guam’s warm weather, relaxed “island” atmosphere, culturally rich environment and growing military presence.
- Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills to engage youth and families.
- Have a positive attitude and an authentic desire to see young people follow Christ.
Background:
Guam is a U.S. territory in the Western Pacific. It has a culturally rich environment with Chamorro, Filipino, and Pacific Islander influences. A strong military presence shapes the island’s community. Guam enjoys a tropical climate with warm temperatures, averaging 80-85°F. It has a wet season from July to November and occasional typhoons. The youth pastor will address the spiritual needs of youth while embracing the island’s rich cultural heritage.
